RIDE TO RAISE FUNDS FOR LOCAL PALLIATIVE CARE PATIENTS
Dear Sir/Madam…
South West Healthcare’s Palliative Care Unit is in desperate need of more $4,750 Portable Oxygen Concentrators to loan free of charge to palliative care patients choosing to remain at home.
This expensive medical equipment is a lifeline for people struggling to breathe unassisted.
Warrnambool cyclists Mark Powell and Jason Hill will ride from Adelaide to Melbourne this September to raise money to hopefully buy as many as the three Portable Oxygen Concentrators they paid for when they cycled from Sydney to Melbourne in 2008.
The success of this fundraiser depends on securing sponsors. It is hoped your club will want to be one.
‘It is truly inspiring to hear about the independence, freedom and positive gains local palliative care patients have got from using the three Portable Oxygen Concentrators we were able to buy for Warrnambool in 2008 and it makes me even more determined to get more of them to help others,’ says Mark.
Riding with a group of Sydneysiders (they’re raising money for cancer equipment for the Royal Melbourne), Mark and Jason will start their six-day 1,200-kilometres odyssey on September 5.
Every cent Mark and Jason raise will go to their Warrnambool cause.
